While you should be running “as fast as possible” think of pushing the pace to just faster than what your 5k max effort running pace would be.
Workout
1. 1 mile as fast as possible, 5 minute rest
2. ¾ mile as fast as possible, -4 minute rest-
3. ½ mile as fast as possible, 3 minute rest
4. ¼ mile as fast as possible
