Dan, is there any rule of thumb, or recommendation, on how often to do an ice bath? And also, any recommendation on how long to stay in for whatever temp it is? Did that make sense? ???? Thankya!
Great question Leslie! I’m big fan of ice/heat contrast and have a few methods that work for me, but Id encourage you to take a look at the information from Wim Hoff https://www.wimhofmethod.com/regular-ice-baths and see what might work best for you!
My advice? Start slow as in only 5 ,minutes at 50-60 degree water temperature and slowly increase your tolerance for time and temperature week by week, maxing out at 10-15 minutes.
Thank you! When you put an ice bath in the scheduling a couple weeks ago, i did 2 back-to-back 10 minute dips at 58°, with about a 10 min hot shower in between. My joints felt great after, but i dropped my body temp, and it took hours to warm back up! I’ll look up the article ????
